Privacy Policy

• Account details: your email address, an optional full name, and your password, which is stored only as a one-way hash, never in readable form.
• Your location: the state and LGA you save, used to show your representatives and tracker feed.
• Citizen reports: what you write, the photo or video you attach, and, if you share it, the location where the report was made.

Reports are reviewed by VoteWisely moderators before anything is published. When a report is verified, its content and evidence can appear on the representative's public page, but your name and email are never shown publicly. Exact report locations are only visible to moderators.

We do not sell your data or share it with political parties, candidates or advertisers.

When you sign in we set one essential cookie, votewisely_session, that keeps you signed in for up to 7 days. It is not readable by scripts on the page.

We also set vw_vid, a random anonymous ID that lasts up to a year. It lets us count, in our own database, how many people visit each week, look up their representatives, and share scorecards. It is never linked to your account, name or email, is not shared with anyone, and is not used for advertising. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.

Photos and videos attached to reports are stored with Cloudinary, our media hosting provider. Account and report data is stored in our own database.

You can view and manage the reports you have submitted from My Reports. You can sign out at any time to remove the session cookie. To have your account and its data deleted, or for any privacy question, email [email protected].
